BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — On the crisp opening night of the Ballston Spa Film Festival I got to watch the open-air world premiere of the original series of eScape, the kids’ scifi-adventure series that Blue Seraph partner Runic Films plans to reboot.

Nearly 400 people gathered in the downtown park of this picturesque upstate New York village to watch the world premiere of the 10-episode second season of the Web series.

I’ve been talking for the past few months with eScape creator Mike Feurstein, and finally got to meet him in person, along with with his cast and crew. At the end of the night, Mike, his cinematographer Shawn Schaffer, and two of his young cast, Patrick Reilly and Shawn Minarik, joined me and Ben Alpi, my Runic partner, at Denny’s in Saratoga, N.Y.
